Hi my name is Blayn Parkinson I’m a PhotoArtist & Educator, admirer of History, Folklore and learning technologies. Enthusiast of historical re-enactment, aficionado of real ale, fine whisky’s and Tea! Lots of Tea!
I currently work in Higher Education using my creative skills as a Learning Technologist specialising in 3D Graphics and the use of Web2.0 in education. I hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Silversmithing & Jewellery from London Guildhall University and a Master of Arts in Computer Animation from Teesside University.
I’ve worked previously as a Designer (Web and Graphic), as an illustrator and in various IT roles, as a Tutor and Trainer (Creative skills and ITC) and I’ve recently seen my love of photography shift form an enthusiast into something more professional.
I have always loved crafts, from jewellery to woodcarving and leatherworking all of which I can indulge with my passion for history through Historical re-enactment where I make a lot of costume and kit.
Much of my work synthesizes my art and craft background, the mixed mediums of physical and digital with my love of history and folklore.
I’m always on the lookout for interesting projects and commissions. Please contact me if you wish to discuss any ideas that you have! Thanks
